COMPLIANCE & LICENSURE

How Do I Become A Travel Nurse?

Compliance & Licensure

Traveling nursing requires the same certifications and licenses as staff nursing, but with Staffmax you have one advantage. You can rely on your team of Staffmax agents, including a credentialing specialist, to help you navigate all the credentials and paperwork you need.

Get expedited licenses and much more

Staffmax can expedite your licensing process in all 50 states. But we don’t stop there. We can also help you plan your assignments, give you inside knowledge on what facilities will be hiring soon, and guide you with any and all requirements for your travel nursing jobs.

You’ll never have to navigate complicated paperwork alone.

Your personal team is here to help with:

  • Vaccinations – You’ll need to provide proof of a current TB test and other immunizations. Your Staffmax credentialing specialist can help you schedule any appointments if you need to update your vaccinations.

  • Physical Exam – A physical exam is also required, and your credentialing specialist can help you book this appointment too.

  • Licensing and Certifications – We’ll keep all your paperwork on file, though we recommend that you keep your own records too. While the licensing process varies between states, your Staffmax team will help you get whatever you need, as fast as possible.

  • Drug Screen and Background Check – These are required, and your credentialing specialist can help you set up these appointments too.

  • State-or Job-Specific Documents – Don’t worry about figuring out the details at every place you work. Your Staffmax credentialing specialist will let you know what you need for each position, remind you of any deadlines, and help you get whatever you need.

What degrees and certifications do I need?

Travel nurses need the same degrees and certifications as staff nurses. So if you’re already working on staff, you’re good!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • RN Degree, with a minimum of an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
  • NCLEX-RN Exam
  • State License (We’ll help you get a license in any of the 50 states!)
  • Specialty-specific certifications
